Client-server architecture

gica0 is a client-server web application that can be run from a standard web browser.

It is currently certified for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Multiplatform

The software requirements are compatible with both Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux, making it a cross-platform application on both the server and user sides.

Free dependencies

The server-side component only requires free applications.

There’s no need to invest in software licenses to run the application, significantly reducing implementation costs.

Database

The main database is Oracle XE, although gica0 is compatible with Oracle Database and, in a simple way, other databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or any other system that the user may require could be used.

Operating scheme

Application server

A web server runs the application by responding to requests made by users from their web browser.

Database Server

A database server stores all the information. This computer may or may not be the same as the previous one.

Users

Users can access the application using only an internet browser, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, from anywhere in the world and at any time.

Inspectors

Inspectors carry out on-site spill control inspections using a laptop or tablet without needing an internet connection.
